Whether you’re riding the SmartLoad or our Classic TruTrainer rollers, the experience is built
around the same proven engineering — a progressive resistance curve, balanced flywheels, and our precision-machined
rear drum system. The result is a ride feel so natural, it’s easy to forget you’re indoors.

Unlike traditional rollers or fluid trainers, TruTrainer’s design replicates the momentum and resistance of real-world
riding — whether you’re spinning easy or laying down power. Riders repeatedly tell us: nothing else comes close.

• Compared to fixed smart trainers: your bike isn’t locked in a clamp. You still move on the rollers,
  engaging balance, core, and real handling instead of just mashing against a stationary frame.
• Compared to basic rollers: SmartLoad keeps the same long-coast, heavy-flywheel road feel TruTrainer is known for — you can coast for 20+ seconds at speed — but adds a progressive resistance curve and app control so you can do serious structured and ERG-style training without losing that natural feel.

SmartLoad technology

Our SmartLoad Power Rollers deliver our most advanced indoor cycling training experience yet, and we think the most
satisfying of any cycling roller training experience on the market. Designed to absorb power from even the strongest
riders, our SmartLoad Power Rollers have tested above 1000 watts — the SmartLoad unit is completely contained within
the rear roller providing an exceptionally clean package. In fact, the only visible differences between it and our
proven TruTrainer Classic rear roller are the cooling slots through the roller end caps (sucking up that much power
generates a bit of heat so we air cool the device).

The unit is self-powered via an internal generator so you can take it anywhere. There are no batteries to run down and
no need for an external power supply. It wakes up at about 8 MPH and you’re on your way. Super capacitors provide
roughly 15 minutes of power after the rollers come to a stop so you’ll have time to refill water bottles, use the
facilities, and perform software updates without losing your place.

The SmartLoad Power Rollers allow 3rd party training apps like Zwift or TrainerRoad to control the roller load via
wireless ANT+ or BLE communication, adding a whole new dimension to your power training sessions.

SmartLoad Rollers can also be controlled using our free, custom smartphone app via Bluetooth, which comes with three
modes for Manual, Target Power, or Wind and Grade power settings.

The SmartLoad Power Roller can be purchased as part of a complete roller assembly or as an upgrade to existing
TruTrainer Classic rollers. Swap out the rear roller, download the app and you’re… rolling.

Built in-house in Indiana

All TruTrainer rollers — SmartLoad and Classic — are built in-house at our Indiana facility. We control every detail
from machining to final assembly, delivering trainers that perform as hard as you do.

Front roller adjusts to accommodate wheelbases from 37.2 inches (94.5 cm) to 43.2 inches (109.7 cm) in ½ inch increments.
